Blackbird Pond
- 2.0 oz. blanco tequila
- 0.5 oz. Nixta
- 0.25 oz. honey liqueur (Barenjager)
- 0.25 oz. Tamworth Garden Black Trumpet Blueberry Cordial
- barspoon of Empirical Cilantro
- dash of El Guapo Fuego bitters
Stir with ice, then float 0.25 smoky mezcal.
This started with corn (Nixta) and blueberry. Everything else just fell in place, with a tequila base and honey addition. Cilantro adds a nice herbal note, and then I added the kick of the mezcal.
The name comes from a Google search and the discovery of the novel The Witch of Blackbird Pond, where blueberry and corn cakes play as a prominent feature. Not sure how appropriate, but seemed a nice name for a drink. So.. magic.
